Job description:
- We are currently looking for a subject-matter expert in Java who can teach programming concepts in Java to kids in middle and high school throughout the school year. You must have experience with OOPS and preferably data structures in Java.
Responsibilities:
- You would be responsible for following the lesson plans and teaching programming concepts in Java.
- On a day-to-day basis, you would be assessing the students’ work, providing feedback on project submissions.
- You may be required to work on-on-one with a student to clarify the doubts.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to update existing projects and lesson plans, as needed.
Qualifications:
- You have 3+ years of experience working in the software industry and/or teaching experience in Java.
- Prior group teaching experience is highly desirable.
- You must be proficient in Java; both procedural and OOPS concepts.
- You must also know flow charts, algorithms and basic data structures.
- You should be able to use powerpoint, doc, excel and other tools efficiently.
- You should be able to work in a team and communicate with others in a timely manner.
- You should be able to take feedback and incorporate the needed changes.
Other expectations:
- This position starts immediately.
- This is a remote position and the working hours can be flexible up to an extent.
Salary:
- $25 -$45 USD per hour based on your experience.
